Vitamin A is necessary for the growth of animals and the proper functioning of epithelial tissue, skin and mucous membranes. It has antioxidant properties. It affects the morphogenesis of organs in the fetal period and during embryo development. It improves the functioning of the reproductive and immune systems. It stimulates erythropoiesis, takes part in ossification and the formation of bone structure; participates in the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates. It stimulates the enzymatic activity of the liver and the activity of some endocrine glands (gonades, adrenal glands, pituitary gland). It takes part in the process of creating rhodopsin (a dye that determines the ability to see). Vitamin A is administered in case of diagnosed disorders of the reproductive, skeletal and endocrine systems.
